As is known the functioning of the genetic apparatus of biological systems is largely due to conformational changes in the DNA molecule and the native form of DNA is the B-form. However, under natural conditions, structural transitions from the B form to the A-form and vice versa are possible [\textit{J. D. Watson} et al., Molecular biology of the gene. Pearson (2004)]. In this article the authors have considered the Peyrard-Bishop model of DNA with an asymmetric double-well potential of interaction between nucleotides, taking into account friction. It is shown that at a certain value of the dissipation coefficient in this model, a kink-type solution is possible, which can be interpreted as a B-A transition [\textit{F. K. Zakir'yanov} and \textit{M. I. Fakhretdinov}, Izv. Vyssh. Uchebn. Zaved., Prikl. Nelineĭn. Din. 18, No. 1, 80--87 (2010; Zbl 1224.35405)]. Numerical estimates of the constructed solution are derived, and they qualitatively match estimates from prior studies.\N\NFor the entire collection see [Zbl 1520.92003].
