Chebyshev approximation of multivariable functions by a power expression (Q6610548)

This paper studies approximations of functions in many variables by truncated power series in generalized polynomials. The method uses a Chebyshev-type approximation.\N\NThe approximations are computed in a two-step process involving a adaptive and weighted least-squares approximation, and the goal is to find a suitable approximation with a small relative error. Several examples are presented to show the efficiency of the approach.
