The main aim of this paper is to study a set of geometric properties that determines the order unit spaces. First, the notion of \textit{skeleton} with a head in a nonzero real vector space is introduced . As an application, a characterization of order unit spaces is provided. Then, some elementary properties of the skeleton corresponding to an order unit space are studied. Finally, a condition is found under which an order unit space contains a copy of \(\ell_{\infty}^n\) for some \(n \in \mathbb N\) as an order unit subspace.
