The paper under review extends an earlier work by the author [Aequationes Math. 95, No. 5, 801--820 (2021; Zbl 1481.11079)] and is devoted to modelling and investigating generalizations of the Salem functions by generalized shifts in terms of the nega-q-ary representation (the term ``nega'' is used because the base to this numerical system is a negative number). Montonicity and continuity properties are investigated, and the author promises to consider the differentiabilty properties in a forthcoming paper.
