The authors establish an exact formula for the average genus of 2-bridge knots in terms of their crossing number and show that it asymptotically approaches \(c/4 +1/12\), where \(c\) is the crossing number. This work is closely related to a paper by the first author [J. Knot Theory Ramifications 32, No. 9, Article ID 2350055, 21 p. (2023; Zbl 1547.57017)].
