The authors study a hyperbolic version of a system of Von Kármán type over a compact Kähler manifold of complex dimension \(m\geq 2.\) Local well-posedness is proved of the corresponding Cauchy problem in a suitable function space frame, as well as an almost global existence result is derived when the initial data are sufficiently small.
