The notion of algebraic universality was defined by \textit{J. R. Isbell} [Diss. Math. 36, 33 p. (1964; Zbl 0133.26703)] as a generalization of representation results in different categories of structures [\url{https://inmabb.criba.edu.ar/revuma/pdf/v11n4/p155-157.pdf}; \textit{J. de Groot}, Math. Ann. 138, 80--102 (1959; Zbl 0087.37802); \textit{G. Sabidussi}, Monatsh. Math. 64, 64--67 (1960; Zbl 0097.38904)]. This paper characterizes the slices of the category of graphs that are algebraically universal in terms of the structure of the slicing graph.
