The paper deals with the Tricomi problem for a mixed-type equation with retarded argument in an unbounded domain. The author proves the unique solvability of the problem without restrictions on the decay magnitude The proof of the existence of a solutions is based on the solvability of a suitable difference equation. Closed-form integral representations for solutions are also derived.
