Numerical approximation of variational problems with orthotropic growth (Q6631359)

The purpose of this work is to study the approximation of variational problems with orthotropic growth. The work is organized as follows. Section 1 is an Introduction. Section 2 introduces notations and presents the main assumptions over the collections of functions detailing the operator and growth conditions. Section 3 details the finite element scheme and its analysis. optimal error estimates with realistic regularity assumptions are obtained. In Section 4, the operators for certain domains and classes of meshes are constructed. Some numerical experiments, with tables and graph illustrations, are finally discussed in Section 5.
