In the context of general compact metric spaces, the relationship between capacity of a set and its covering number is studied. First the authors show a positive result in terms of an inequality. In the last section, they show that the converse inequality often fails. The result is applied to Cantor-like sets, giving an estimate of the capacity of such a set in terms of the parameters used in the construction of the sets.
