The authors prove the existence of fixed points for a Mizoguchi-Takahashi-Kannan type contraction in a metric space endowed with a binary relation. Uniqueness of a fixed point is proved under additional hypothesis. Some appropriate examples are presented. Hyers-Ulam-Rassias stability and a data dependence result are also considered.
