WTP for adaptation captures the benefits that adaptation policies could yield. Economists recommend that, when examining climate change adaptation options, some consideration is given to the benefits of these options, compared to their costs. To facilitate that exercise, we implement a benefit transfer exercise of our WTP estimates described in D6.1 to all EU countries and all NUTS2 regions of the EU, Norway, and the UK, and we compare them with the avoided damages from adaptation computed within the COACCH project at the same spatial resolution. The high value placed on benefits from adaptation both by the benefit transfer exercise for WTP and by COACCH macroeconomic projections, suggests that adaptation measures will be welcome in most instances across Europe.
