The authors of the current paper introduced in [Adv. Appl. Math. 18, No. 3, 237-270, Art. No. AM 960506 (1997)] the new Mahonian statistics ENV, MAD and MAK on permutations and words. They showed that ENV=classical statistics INV and that the triple statistics (des, MAK, MAD) and (exc, DEN, ENV) are equidistributed over any rearrangement class of words. In this paper the authors extend the above results to the case when the letters are divided into two classes, called small and large, by making suitable and appropriate modifications to the definitions of the above Mahonian statistics.
