It is well known that nonelementary Kleinian groups do not admit invariant measures. Since distributions in the sense of L. Schwartz are generalizations of measures it is naturally to ask: Do there exist invariant distributions on Kleinian groups? In the paper under review the authors prove that there exist Kleinian groups which admit invariant distributions. The proof is elegant, and also some interesting connections with the foliation theory are nicely pointed out.
