The authors propose some methods for solving initial-boundary value problems associated with the nonlinear Schrödinger equation. Using the method of lines, the second-order central difference approximant and Padé approximants for the exponential term, the problem is reduced to a nonlinear algebraic system. The stability and convergence are discussed. Some numerical examples are given.
