The behavior of mechanical systems under the action of forces which are linear combinations of oscillations with frequencies varying in time is studied. It is assumed that the motions of the investigated systems are described by linear nonstationary differential equations. Using the Lyapunov function method, sufficient conditions for stability of such systems are obtained. The kinds of perturbations under which asymptotically recurrent oscillations are generated in the investigated systems are determined.
