The problem of characterizing the restrictions of pluriharmonic functions to abstract \(CR\) manifolds of arbitrary \(CR\) codimension is studied. The notions of \(CR\) gauges and transversal 1-jets are introduced, the pluriharmonic functions are defined, and the decompositions and extension theorems are proved. The cohomology groups with coefficients in the sheaf of pluriharmonic functions and cohomology groups associated to related differential complexes are discussed.
