The full quaternionic contact version of Obata's results for a general quaternionic contact manifold of dimension bigger then 7 is proved. It is also proved that the equality case of the Lichnerowicz-type inequality on a compact quaternionic contact manifold of dimension at least 11 can be achieved only on the 3-Sasakian sphere. This result is generalized for non-compact complete quaternionic contact manifolds.
