The main result in \textit{M. R. Dellomo} [J. Pure Appl. Algebra 40, 15-26 (1986; Zbl 0583.57004)] is a formula for the inverse limit of the first homology of the branched cyclic covers of \(S^3\) branched over a knot. In the present note, the author provides an alternative, simpler proof of a key step in Dellomo's computation. In addition he proves that the higher homology of the inverse limit is trivial.
