Using a transformation of a sum of a double series given by the author [Jñãnãbha, Sect. A 4, 141-144 (1974; Zbl 0309.33003)], a two- dimensional generating relation is obtained for a product of two Laguerre polynomials and several particular cases of the result are deduced. A few generating relations are also derived for Hermite polynomials which are related to Laguerre polynomials.
