The author proves a number of basic results on prime \(n\times n\) Boolean matrices dealing with Boolean rank (also called Schein rank), factorizations of regular matrices in terms of matrices which are permutation matrices with a 1 entry added, and minimal prime Boolean matrices are special nearly decomposable matrices.
