The authors generalize to Steiner systems \(S(t,t+1,v)\) a well-known result for \(\text{STS} (v)\)'s and \(\text{SQS} (v)\)'s. Namely, there is no blocking set (2-colouring) when \(t\) is even, and when \(t\) is odd, the size of a blocking set, if it exists, is \(v/2\).
