A parallel architecture implementation of a combination between a local (quasi-Newton) and a global (an improved version of local variations) method for the numerical integration (via shooting) of two-point boundary value problems for ordinary differential equations is described. The effectiveness is illustrated by numerical results from the solution of three classical test problems.
