A proof for the existence of the spectral decomposition of normal elements of arbitrary \(AW^*\)-algebras inside them is given. Its uniqueness is shown for normal \(AW^*\)-algebras. The existence and uniqueness of polar decomposition of elements of arbitrary \(AW^*\)- algebras inside them is derived.
