The authors introduce a discrete parameter \(\omega\) with \(\omega^ N=1\) into the solution \(S\) of the braid group associated with the \(Z(N)\)- model, and discuss its quantum group structure. They point out that the parameter \(\omega\) plays the role of \(q\)-deformation at a root of unity in comparison with the usual quantum group theory.
