The author gives direct proofs of earlier observations due to \textit{X. Nie} and \textit{R. Unbehauen} [IEEE Trans. Circuits Syst. CAS-36, No. 2, 315-317 (1989; Zbl 0683.93068)] concerning polynomials whose all zeros lie in the disc \(| z |<1\).
