In this book the authors discuss the main tools of the theory of non-equilibrium Green functions applied to analysis of some recent advances in many body quantum physics, namely for inhomogeneous systems where the progresses accomplished in recent years in computational resources allow now practical computations. After an overview on computational approaches in many body problem at equilibrium, the second chapter briefly explains how the theory of non-equilibrium Green functions extends the classical equilibrium formalism of Matsubara. In Chapter 3 are presented more specifically computational aspects using finite elements method. Then computation of equilibrium states is explained by solving the so-called Kadanoff-Baym integral equations. The two-times propagation method is introduced in Chapter 4 together with parallelization strategies. The two last chapters are devoted to the study of lattice systems and finally to some continuous systems.
