The book is a didactically well-organized text-book of mathematics for non-mathematicians. In the subtitle it is mentioned that it is addressed to engineers and computer scientists, but it can also be used to study mathematics by students of other subjects. The level of the book is sufficiently good for them. The main features of the textbook are the following. All mathematical results are correct and presented in an as simple form as possible. There is a big collection of examples and exercises for self-education (supplied by simple tests concerning several important themes in a course of higher mathematics). Any result is illustrated by pictures (whenever it is possible). Several examples of applications are given. The material is carefully chosen due to the great teaching experience of the authors. The content of the book is more or less standard. It contains foundations of mathematics, elements of algebra and linear algebra, basic topics of an introduction to analysis, complex numbers, basics of differential equations and elements of probability theory and statistics.
