The paper provides a short proof for a complete characterization of the infima of superharmonic functions in terms of mean-value inequalities and a weak measurability property. The authors use previous results of \textit{B. J. Cole} and \textit{T. J. Ransford} [J. Funct. Anal. 147, No. 2, 420--442 (1997; Zbl 0873.31007)], which contain necessary and sufficient conditions for a function \(u\) to be the infimum of its superharmonic majorants.
