\textit{A. Blokhuis} and \textit{M. Lavrauw} [Geom. Dedicata 81, 231-243 (2000; Zbl 0990.51004)] constructed a class of two-intersection sets with respect to hyperplanes in a finite projective space (using a scattered subspace with respect to a normal spread). In the paper under review, the authors show that these two-intersection sets are not isomorphic to a disjoint union of Baer subgeometries, and not isomorphic to a union of elements of a spread.
