Here, new stability conditions are established for a spacecraft which is oriented with respect to the inertial space by a control system with three gyroscopic frames. The conditions of asymptotic stability are obtained by the method of matrix Lyapunov functions [\textit{A. A. Martynyuk}, Stability by Lyapunov's matrix function method with applications, New York: Marcel Dekker, Inc. (1998; Zbl 0907.34034)]. These conditions are free from some restrictions which are necessary for stability investigation by vector Lyapunov functions.
