Known techniques of variational optimization are applied here to a fuzzy optimization problem. Using \(\alpha\)-levels of a fuzzy constraint, the author describes an optimal solution on the level \(\alpha.\) Next, the successive approximation procedure leads to a maximizing solution. A numerical example is calculated with the aid of Maple V (a symbolic solver).
