The author considers the Lie group \(G\) of affine transformations of the real line. It is a non-commutative two-dimensional solvable Lie group that is not unimodular and so it is of exponential growth. A certain natural Laplacian with a drift term on \(G\) is introduced. A large time upper estimate for the corresponding heat kernel is obtained.
