Regional null controllability for degenerate heat equations (Q699609)

The authors first obtain a regional null controllability result (at the fixed final time \(T\)) at least in the region where the equation is not degenerate. Later, they prove the ``persistency'' of the null controllability result in any interval \([T,T']\). The proofs combine Carleman estimates with the introduction of well-chosen cut-off functions.
