Error estimates for isoparametric mixed finite element solution of 4th order elliptic problems with variable coefficients (Q699655)

This paper deals with the combined effect of numerical integration and boundary approximation for the isoparametric mixed finite element solution of fourth-order elliptic problems with variable coefficients in convex and nonconvex domains. The authors give a direct approximation to the bending moment tensor field and displacement field of the aniso-, ortho-, isotropic plate bending problems. Also error estimates for these solutions are presented. Results of interesting numerical experiments to justify the theoretical results are given.
