Some developments in approximation by reciprocals of polynomials have been recently achieved by \textit{G. Q. Xu} [J. Eng. Math., Xi'an 13, No. 4, 112-116 (1996; Zbl 0925.65029)]. In this paper the authors have generalized results of G. Q. Xu to the general \(L^p\) space for \(1<p<\infty\) and have given a different proof.
