Fuzzy model-based adaptive control is presented. A method that integrates the analysis of knowledge consistency as an additional criterion in the evolutive environment of fuzzy model-based adaptive controllers is proposed. A solution is presented to determine the degree of contradiction between the rules of the knowledge base. The proposed method is applied to an example with features that make it ideal to be solved by means of adaptive schemes.
