Optimal control of polymer morphologies (Q701818)

This paper is devoted to the optimal design of polymeric material through control during the crystallization process. The authors set up a control problem that can be used for optimizing the crystalline structure of the sample. Main task of this problem is to find an optimal cooling strategy, with the restrictions. The authors investigate the well-posedness of the state equation and the solvability of the optimal-control problem. Some numerical experiments related to the arising optimal-control problem are discussed and results for some test examples are presented.
