The authors investigate the convergence and semiconvergence of powers of interval matrices. This is motivated by the fact that the stability of first order linear equations can be checked by observing powers of interval matrices. In former papers [for example \textit{G. Mayer}, ibid. 58, 201--216 (1984; Zbl 0555.65020)], the results are restricted to interval matrices the absolute values of which are irreducible. The results are now extended to interval matrices for which the absolute value is allowed to be reducible with weak restrictions on the corresponding reducible normal form.
