The paper contains some elementary observations on knot diagrams and their graphs. Given a reduced alternating achiral projection of a knot, then the number of white regions equals the number of black ones in a chess-board coloring. This follows by looking at the Jones or the Kauffman bracket polynomial. Furthermore, the author is able to construct a family of achiral knots by using graphs of knots.
