The article deals with numerical solution of convection-diffusion-reaction problems. The complexity of such problems is connected with a wide range of time scales which leads to numerical difficulties. The original problem for reacting flow is split into subproblems easier for solving. The splitting error that has two components: physical splitting error and numerical splitting error. Both errors are studied carefully, and the corresponding error estimates are obtained. The authors present two applications of the developed method to real chemical industry problems.
