The best possible constants for the Brezis-Marcus inequalities in \(n\)-dimensional convex domains and balls [\textit{H. Brezis} and \textit{M. Marcus}, Ann. Sc. Norm. Super. Pisa, Cl. Sci., IV. Ser. 25, No. 1--2, 217--237 (1997; Zbl 1011.46027)] are investigated. A conjecture is formulated, saying that among all \(n\)-dimensional domains with a given inradius \(r\) the maximum of the best Brezis-Marcus constants is that obtained for the \(n\)-dimensional ball of radius \(r\).
