An initial boundary value problem for the equation describing heat conduction in a spherical model of neutron star is considered. The authors give a priori estimates of the solution, the global existence of a unique solution and the precised asymptotic behaviour of the solution for large times, leading to a plausible notion of `thermalization time'.
