Orbital stability of solitary waves for a nonlinear Schrödinger system (Q719211)

This paper is concerned with the study of a coupled nonlinear Schrödinger system, where the two unknowns are complex-valued functions of \((x,t)\). The system describes the evolution of small amplitude, slowly varying wave packets in a nonlinear media. The authors show that, for this system of equations, the interplay between components of solutions in terms of the real parameters \((a,b,c)\) plays an important role in both the existence and stability of solitary waves.
