Based on a residual a posteriori error estimator, previously introduced, the authors establish the convergence of an adaptive scheme for the discontinuous finite volume method. They consider a homogeneous Dirichlet boundary value problem for the Laplace equation and carry out some numerical experiments on an L shape domain.
