In contrast to algebraic geometry, where algorithmic resolution of singularities is available and implemented (though not very efficient in general) in several variants, an implementation for the analogous result for holomorphic foliations (due to Seidenberg) is not as readily available even in the case of foliations of the complex plane. For this special case, the authors develop an algorithm making use of Gröbner bases. The algorithm is implemented in \texttt{Singular}.
