The two definitions of measure semigroup \((S, m)\) given recently by the author [ibid. 75, 337--344 (2007; Zbl 1131.22002)] are unified into a single one and it is shown how the types of invariance for the measure are formulated in this single setting, what are their interrelations and what effect they have on the embeddability of \(S\) in a group.
