The author studies linear Fuchsian equations and nonlinear equations (the sixth Painlevé equation and the Garnier systems) which appear as deformation equations of the scalar Fuchsian equations. The classical results for nonlinear equations are supplemented with existence theorems for inverse monodromy problems.
