This text develops a theory of deformation of algebras over a quadratic operad, with a local commutative algebra as parameter space; this includes the already known theory for associative or Lie algebras, for example. A cohomological theory of obstructions of extension of a deformation of such objects is worked out, and a versal deformation of a given algebra over a quadratic operad with a complete local algebra as its base is constructed; it induces all other deformations.
