The authors consider the multiprocessor implementation of two projection methods for the iterative solution of a nonsingular system of linear equations \(Ax=f\), where \(A\in R^{N\times N}\) is a large sparse matrix and \(f\in R^ N\). The projection methods in question are the CG accelerated block SSOR method and the CG accelerated symmetric Kaczmarz method. Their performance is studied as the problem size and number of processors is varied.
